How old do you have to be to work at desert sun tanning salon in marysville,wa?

i'm almost 16.and i'd like to know.

i've searched everywhere, but no luck! How old do you have to be to work at desert sun tanning salon in marysville,wa?
why don't you simply try CALLING the business? How old do you have to be to work at desert sun tanning salon in marysville,wa?
call them...?

Is it ok to go to the tanning salon when I am slightly sunburned from the salon?

I know how tempting it can be when you are dying for a summer tan, but you can't tan a burn, so you really just have to wait it out. Like everyone else has said, tanning is really bad for the skin, but I understand the urge to get bronzed and would be hypocritical to say I haven't done my fair share of tanning. In the meantime, I have found that Loreal Sublime Glow lotion works wonders... it is really subtle so if you miss a few places, you can't even tell because it builds so gradually. Give it a try!Is it ok to go to the tanning salon when I am slightly sunburned from the salon?
in my opinion you should be happy with who you are .

and for your question' s answer:

there might be a slight chance that you can get skin cancer

BECAREFUL

pale skin instead of having skin cancer????

think it okIs it ok to go to the tanning salon when I am slightly sunburned from the salon?
You cannot tan a burn. It's just not a possibility. You should get a spray tan instead of using a tanning bed. Those are soooo bad for your skin.

  • How many times do you go to a tanning salon to get a nice brown colour?

ALSO IF YOU ARE FROM LONDON..NAME ME A GOOD PLACE TO GO? AND HOW MUCH..thanks.How many times do you go to a tanning salon to get a nice brown colour?
Any color other than your natural skin color is not good for you! Especially from tanning beds. The rays are so much closer to your skin and not shielded by the atmosphere like the sun is. A little bronze isn't bad, it might protect you a little from getting a burn as bad as from nothing but a ';nice brown'; color isn't good for your skin. If you look at someone who is say ... 30 and has been tanning for 10 years compared to someone the same age and body type, life style, habbits, except for tanning. On average the one that has not been exposing their skin to harmful direct rays will have younger looking skin than the tanning bed attender. Rays that direct make your skin wrinkle faster and you can get skin cancer that has to be surgically removed if it's deadly. How many times do you go to a tanning salon to get a nice brown colour?
Depends on your original skin colour.

My skin is light brown %26amp; I go for 6 minutes the first time, then increase by 3 minutes atleast 3 more times. Usually it takes me about 4-5 visits.

Tanning salons should know just by looking at you, the time in which you will need that is suited to your skin tone.
Depends on how quickly you want skin cancer.
really depends on your skin type and how long long you go in for. If you go to a professional tanning salon like fabutan or something they try and control your time so u dont burn. IF your pasty and naturally so they will probably only let u go in ten minutes at a time(u can boost it up as u keep going). If your trying to get one fast once a day for a week should probably do it.

( by the way i went through a skin cancer scare because of indoor tanning and i highly reccomend just getting a spray on at a

salon because its really not worth it)
    Usually every 2-3 weeks.
To the first answered girl. You have some nerve sure if you want to go out and get skin cancer go right ahead but, you have no right putting other people done cause they want to go to the tanning salon. I would go to a tanning salon to get a healthy tan and so what if it cost money to get it. But, oh well I would rather have a healthy one then get skin cancer and have to pay more money to doctors and have freaked up looking skin..Leather ladies you know who you are...Happy New Year
It depends on what kind of tanning lotion you use.
Just wait until the summer, U got the free sun and heat. Be patient girl. I am amazed at how much revenue tanning salons make off from women who are insecure or need to be upkeep with the looks. Its natural to get lighter in the winter. . SOrry need to answer this since i am new to this yahoo answers. lol The answers are all true babe, just save ur money and use the sun. Free is better than spendin, use that term wisely.
I never ever tan, in a salon or otherwise. I have an aversion to wrinkles, age spots, and skin cancer. I perfer my soft fair line-free skin to rough dry flakey tanned leathery skin anyday. Yuck. Happy New Year.
If you want a tan from a tanning bed then it really depends on how light your skin is and how sensitive it is to sunlight...if you tan the right way (which means without burning and lots of lotion to moisturize) then it could take about two to three months.........if you have skin that tans easily then it could only take one month.... there's also the option of getting a spray on tan--- which means that u dont have to worry about getting cancer and wrinkles later on down the road! You should really just talk to ur doctor/demero or a tanning salon employee~~ good luck!
Once you get your base tan - you can go about once every 7-10 days to keep it up. The time it takes to get the base tan will vary. It depends on your skin type. Just start out slow and try not to burn. It takes about a month to get a decent base going. You damage your skin even more every time you burn. I would try to alternate between doing a spray-on mist tan and then maybe doing some bed tanning to make it look better. That is, if you just feel like you have to have a tan. It's really not the smartest thing to do. I was addicted to it for about 10 years, and now I don't go at all.
Never have, never will. I don't believe in artificial beauty. If I want to tan, I get out of the house and get a tan. Personally I see those people who need to be at the tanning salons as pretentious and shallow, but hey .. however you want to blow your cash.

How can you can get a fast tan without using a spray tan or without going to a tanning salon?

tittle says it all!How can you can get a fast tan without using a spray tan or without going to a tanning salon?
    lay outside..

:)How can you can get a fast tan without using a spray tan or without going to a tanning salon?
    Go outside
There is a lotion like tanning cream that gives a nice tanned look. Try Jergens, it works well and pretty inexpensive. You can find it drug stores and grocery stores.
lay out in the sun (in your back yard or at a pool or something) with some tanning oil and put a lot on, it attracts sun.

do it between 11 am-3pm, those are the best times to get a lot of sun, But if your really pale don't stay out too long you can get burnt really fast.

Also make sure you have something to drink coz you'll get hot really fast.

thats probably the only way you'll get tan besides a fake tan and the tanning beds.
Umm, go stand in the sun, duh!
color yourself with orange or brown marker
take a bath in mexican soda pop....
you can go hang out in the sun
i used that 365 day glow by ocean potion, it's at walmart and is cheap as hell but it works without making you streaky i love it. and you can control the darkness.
    Glow lotion.
Stay in the sun and use tanning lotion.

How Many Times Should I Go To The Tanning Salon?

I have a wedding to go to on sept 26 and i have tan lines from going to the beach and all but i wanted to kno how many times should i go im not really a tanning salon kinda person but i just need to make the tan lines go away so i can where a dress so plz help me and no stupid answer about skin cancer i already kno im just doing this for a wedding and never again going to a tanning salonHow Many Times Should I Go To The Tanning Salon?
dont go at all thats wat happened to my friend now she doesnt stop tanning !!!How Many Times Should I Go To The Tanning Salon?
Well your right about the whole skin cancer thing- but when you go tanning you should start only for like 4-7 minutes, then you can bump up the time. How many minutes you go depends on what type of bed you use- ask an employee about their beds. If it is just for tan lines I would say it should only take a week or two at the most!
Instead of going to a tanning salon, a more economical and safer option is a spray on tan, or a lotion that will naturally make you're skin more tan and will get rid of your tan lines in no time, but also keep a natural glow that looks real, unlike a tan you would get at a salon. :)
don't tan let it fade that way your skin is almost on all one color

then get a tan a week before so it settles in and that you still have that bronze look

and you won't get skin cancer if you still have tan lines a little body foundation wouldn't hurt
i wouldn't recommend it and im not sure. i suggest either getting a self tanner or going to a tanning salon that doesn't use tanning beds but sprays you when you're naked (you're alone don't worry) it really worked for my cousin :)
it depends if its a tanning booth, or the spray on kind. Spray on... 1nce or 2wice... tanning bed... i dont recommend because i was once in one for only 10 minutes (even though it was recommended at 30 mins) and i literally passed out later that day
you should get spray tanned. it looks better and it MUCH better for your skin.

How old do you have to be to work at a tanning salon in missouri?

well i live in missouri and wantin to know how old I have to be to work at a tanning salon. but im only 15. Am i old enough to work at a tanning salon? How old do you have to be to work at a tanning salon in missouri?
Tanning salons are regulated by the state, so I'd be surprised if they'd hire anyone that's less than 18. You should consider calling a few salons on the phone and asking them. How old do you have to be to work at a tanning salon in missouri?
Missouri's Division of Labor Standards states that:

    ';Young people 14 to 15 years of age are permitted to work in a number of different types of businesses, with the majority working in some form of retail or food services. A work certificate is required during the school year.';

    It also states:

    ';Prohibited occupations (for your age) generally involve dangerous equipment (cookers, slicers), dangerous materials (such as toxic chemicals), or dangerous duties (driving, roofing).';

Tanning salons are likely within the ';prohibited occupations.'; You'll find more information about this on the site linked below.

Did you know that your state has a jobs Web site for your age? It's also linked below.

I hope you find a job and a career that suits you.

I need someone to explain to me how to write a resume for a tanning salon?

I'm 16 and will be turning 17 in two months. I decided to get my first job in a tanning salon. I e-mailed 3 different tanning salons and haven't got any answers, I don't know what to do...

Anyways, many others tanning salon sites require people to write a resume but I have no idea of what to write or put in it.

Can someone explain it to me or give me any advice?

ThanksI need someone to explain to me how to write a resume for a tanning salon?
    Hello XOB:

You may want to find out if minors can work in tanning salons in your state. If not, this may be the reason why you're not getting a response. Most salons, tanning, hair, nails, etc. require that their employees be 18 because of health and safety rules imposed by the State.

If you have no experience in that area, you can do a general resume that outlines your school or volunteer accomplishments. Go to:

    http://jobsearch.about.com/od/teenstuden鈥?/a>

for a sample of this type of resume.

If you're interested in beauty or body care, you could also apply for a receptionist job with hair salons, or spas and handle their phones and calendar appointments. Health clubs are another choice, or even working in cosmetics in a retail store. If you like people, these are all great opportunities.

Good luck in your job search.

  • Im going to a tanning salon for the first time & have some questions?

    1. Do you just need a parents signiture if your under-age?

    2. What kind of lotion do you use, is it special or sun tan lotion?

    3. About how old should you be?

    4. Im on the plus-side, should I tan nude?

    5. Will anyone (staff, customers) see me during the tanning process(if I decide to go nude)

    6. How many times should I go?

    7. Do I REALLY have to wear those goggles?

    8. About how many days before an event should I get tanned?

    9. Should I shave before I tan? (some people have told me that you lose the tan faster if you shave the next day)

    10. Will there be step by step instructions on what to do?

    11. Do you have to tip the person who helps you like at a nail salon?

    12. ANYONE GO TO Hawaiian Bronze Tanning?Im going to a tanning salon for the first time %26amp; have some questions?
I tan about every day :]

    1. You need someone there over 18 to sign with you as a whitness.

    2. you aren't sposed to bring walmart lotions into salons try these lotions there are many different kinds http://www.lewiestanning.com/category_ne鈥?/a> your salon should have some that you can use or buy.

    3. It doesn't matter what age you only need someone with you thats 18 when you sign up. After that you can come in by yourself.

    4. Yes you should tan nude its the best it keeps you from having any tan lines and its very comfortable.

    5. NO, Noone will see you, you will be in a closed room with a lock away from anyone else.

    6. To really achieve a good tan i would say a couple times a week.

    7. No you dont have to but i advise you not to open your eyes then because it can damage your eyes really bad if you look around with your eyes open.

    8. It depends how well you tan, i tan every other day and if im going somewhere special i tan the day of the event.

    9. Yes you should shave BEFORE if you shave after your tan will get lighter. Also make sure you exfoliate with a good body scrub that will help you get rid of your dead skin.

    10. Not really its pretty simple they will give you a room, you put your lotion on, you'll push the on button/dial and then you get in.

    11. No you don't i actually didnt know you were sposed to tip the person at the nail salon haha.

    12. No i have no idea where it is but i go to ja makin me tan, ( i live in texas though)

GOOD LUCK %26amp;%26amp; i hope i could help.Im going to a tanning salon for the first time %26amp; have some questions?
    1. I believe the salon I went to required a parent's signature since I was under 18. I'm not sure if they all do or not though.

    2. I bought a special lotion. I know from experience that they do help you build up a tan faster then going without it, so even though it is kind of expensive it's definetly worth it.

    3. I was 17 when I started going, but I'm not sure at all if there is any reason that someone who is younger can not go-- sorry

    4. I believe that everyone should tan nude. It's the perfect way to be tan-line free.

    5. No one will see you. The place that I was at even had a lock on the door, but most of the time I forgot to lock it.

    6. How many times you will have to go depend on your skin type, and also why you want the tan (base tan or just a tan color all year long). That is something that the person working there should be able to tell you once they see your skin tone.

    7. Yes you should wear the goggles. Some people complain that they get tan lines, but hey most people wear sunglasses outside in the sun when their tanning and these goggles are much smaller than sunglasses. But the worker at my salon stressed wearing these or you can ruin your eyes.

    8. I tanned for my prom and I only went for 2 week-- BUT I tan very easliy to begin with, so it is different for everyone.

    9. I don't think it would matter when you shave. I never paid attention to it and the workers never said anything about it either.

    10. My salon did not have instructions posted, but the workers told me what to do (take off clothes, put on lotion, which buttons to press, how to work the radio, etc.)

    11. I did not tip, I don't think that most people do.

If you are just using tanning for an event, then I think it's okay. But just keep in mind that tanning all the time can damage your skin. And also tanning sprays and lotions work great also!
Yes you have to wear the goggles.

They having a special tanning lotion you need to buy there at the salon.

No one will see you naked.

Overweight looks good tanned as well as thinner people.

Whatever you decide just be sure and watch your butt. I burned mine the first time. I always keep my panties on now when I tan.
    1-Not sure, maybe

2-Any suntan lotion, they have expensive ones at the shop

    3-Depends

    4-Of course, if you want.

5-No one will see you. If they can, don't go there.

6-A good shop will have you complete a questionnaire to determine.

7-Absolutely! You don't want to see the pictures of those who didn't. It's really gross. Buy your own goggles.

8-A couple of weeks so you can build up.

    9-I usually do.

10-A good shop will show you around and explain how to use their equipment.

    11-No.

    12-No, never heard of it.
1.) you dont need your parents

2.)They will have lotions there you can buy. STAY AWAY FROM THE TINGLER LOTIONS!!! Make sure to ask for one that is NOT a tingler.

3.)I started when I was 14. I dont think you should be much younger than that.

4.)You can tan nude if you want to. Thats personal preference.

5.)No one will see you. you get your own lil room.

6.)I would start with 2 times a wk.

7.)You should. They protect ur eyes. Personally I just keep my eyes closed because I always fall asleep.

8.)Depending on how easily you tan and how tan you want to be, probably about 2 months.

9.)Yes shave before. There is a lotion called NO-Ad @ walmart that helps you keep ur tan

10.)Go in the room, get undressed, find the button to turn the bed on and jump in. it turns off on its own.

11.)I've never tipped at a tanning salon but you could.

    12.)Never been there
Ive been going tanning for a few years so I can answer all of these questions for you:

    1. Yes, if you are under the age of 18 you need your parent or legal guardian present to sign the consent forms for you to tan. Theres a spot for you to sign and a spot for them to sign.

    2. I use a tanning lotion called BELIEVE it's a special lotion with bronzer so it gives your skin tone that golden glow when you tan. It also has a great smell. They will tell you that lotions with tinglers or activators help your tan develop faster BUT THEY STING! Also if you use those kind and you go home and shower sometimes they can reactivate all over again so watch out for those!

    3. I think you can tan at any age. If your underage as long as your parents are okay with it you should be fine.

    4. I have some friends that tan nude and others that do not because they feel uncomfortable. It all depends on you. I tan nude because it prevents tan lines and you want an even tan otherwise it looks akward. A good all around even tan is the best way to go. It gives you a more natural look to where if you have lines people will know it's a fake tan.

    5. Nobody will see you during the process. The tanning beds are in individual rooms and you lock them from the inside when you go in. Then you change put on your lotion and tan. When you're done you get dressed and unlock the door and leave. NOBODY will see you.

    6. How many times should I go?

    7. Yes the goggles are very important. They prevent the UV rays from the tanning bed from messing up your eyes. If you do not wear the goggles chances are you will have some sort of eye damage later on. The goggles prevent that from happening. Some people try to cover their eyes with a towel because they do not want to wear the goggles but that is not suggested - goggles are the best way to go.

    8. It depends on your skin type. Some people tan quicker than others. When you go to the salon they usually give you a questionaire to fill it out and depending on your answers that tells you about how quickly you should tan. I'd say if you go everyday for a week you will see results, maybe even every other day. Once you get a tan you want you can cut it down and go once every few days or even once and week and it should maintain it's color.

    9. When you shave has nothing to do with your tan so shave whenver you want!

    10. They are instructions on what to do - usually if it's your first time the workers will answer any questions you have and take you on a tour and direct you on how to tan correctly. If not you can always ask and I'm sure they'd be happy to help you! If you are spray tanning they usually have a video that you watch that instructs you on what to do.

    11. No you do not tip. Theyre not really helping you. They just set up the timer and stuff and from there youre doing everything.

    12. I do not go there - I go to supertan and hawaii tan!

    I hope this helps!
    1. yes

    2. as long as the bottle says ';indoor tanning';, your good, but you might want something with a little spf if your fair skinned.

    3.?

    4. if you want to

    5. no

    6. start out going once a day starting out with 6-8

minutes then add 3-5 minutes everytime you go

back for like four or five days. then after that you only have to go every other day or every other couple of days.

    7. YES!!!

    8. id give it 5-7 days before an event

    9. yes

    10. prolly not, but the attendant will be more than

willing to explain anything to you, just ask.

    11. no

    12. no
    1. yes, if you are at a reputable salon

    2. you must use indoor lotions, there are varying kinds, start with a cooling lotion that has conditioners, NEVER use a sunblock or tanning oil blend designed for natural sun exposure

    3. Age is not so much of a factor, you should be old enough to realize and understand you are damaging your skin, and there are repercussion for doing this, including a possibility of cancer. you also should not be developing still, but I believe once you are old enough for the first thing I mentioned, you are old enough physically to tan. I personally would say around 18, any dermatologist or esthetician would say you are never old enough, its just too dangerous. Basically, once you are an adult, its up to you.

    4. Weight really doesn't matter as long as you're not heavy enough to break the bed.

    5. No one should see you, most tanning salons have locking doors and are very polite about policies concerning this. I'm sure somewhere sometimes there has been or is a salon where there are cameras (illegal) like there have been in public bathrooms, set up by some sicko, but very unlikely that would happen to be your salon.

    6. You need to discuss this with the employees at the salon, they will look at your skin and start you off at a safe # of minutes, you really need to give your skin a 24 hour break inbetween sessions, but if your skin feels tight or hurts or is flushed, its not ready to be exposed again. The less you tan, the healthier your skin will be, definitely do not overdo it, you will see the damage later.

    7. YYYYYYEEEEEESSSSS !!! You can go blind if you don't!!!!! wear them please! Your eyelids will not protect you!

    8. This depends on how tan you want to be, you need to give your skin rest time between tans, and leave yourself enough time to have enough sessions to get the desired results. If you are really white, the earlier you start the better, I would leave yourself generally 2 weeks to do this.

    9. Yes, or exfoliate. Getting the dead skin off helps you tan on fresh skin which will stay on longer, it also prevents the spotty shedding to a great degree. Don't be too rough though, don't exfoliate til your skin hurts or it will not be able to take the UV rays very well and you may get a rash

    10. Yes, talk to the salon staff, ask them all these questions again, they are all trained, and most beds operate differently. You should be given time to undress and apply lotion, and then there should be some button somewhere to start the bed.

    11. No, they don't expect it at most salons. Money is always appreciated, but I never tip them. They don't do anything service-wise. If you go to get airbrush tanned, then tip. Service should be tipped.

    12. Nope. Someone else might help you here.

Does the tanning lotions work or do they make your skin orange? (i cant go to a tanning salon)?

im need a tan badly. when i tan in the sun i get sunburned plus it is winter so i can't. help!Does the tanning lotions work or do they make your skin orange? (i cant go to a tanning salon)?
You really have to know what you are doing. I suggest exfoliating every inch of your body that you plan to tan. If you are tanning your face, buy the kind of lotion meant especially for your face. If there are any salons around you that offer it, I would recommend getting it airbrushed by a professional. HOWEVER, I would look for references because the quality can vary greatly. If you decide to do it yourself, start with a shade very close to your own. Then you can get darker gradually. Some people have found that mixing the tanning lotion with water-based body lotion makes it easier to apply the tanning lotion evenly.

Good Luck and if it comes out horribly, exfoliating your skin with baking soda and water will slowly fade the tan.Does the tanning lotions work or do they make your skin orange? (i cant go to a tanning salon)?
When they first came out they weren't very good at providing a natural brown color and often came out looking orange or blotchy.

    Anymore, most are pretty good.

My number 1 pick is Clarin's self tanner, which can only be purchased at Clarin's boutiques. It is awesome and has a great color, but it's expensive.

My next pick: Banana boat brand. Much cheaper- can be found at Wal-Mart or wherever.
    get a good one

    it works
some do yes, but normally the cheap ones. beyond bronze %26amp; st tropez are both good quality tanners that are used by many celebrities which have a much browner undertone than some of the cheaper makes, although for the winter you don't want to look too unnatural so why don't you try one of the gradual tanners which is out there atm, such as johnsons holiday skin. if you do want to prevent yourself from going orange then don't lather on a load at one go. just keep building up day by day to acheive the colour that you want, this will also prevent streaks (:
dont get any kind of quick tan made easy stuff it never works...um...why can't you go to the tanning salon? but sum lotions and things are actually pretty good or so i've heard
try loreal sublime bronze for medium natural tan, isn't orange.
remember to get a good self tanner and to exfoliate before using.
the brand is the key to a good self-tanner.

i can go to a tanning salon if i wanted, but i dont because i use this:

    its amazing!

    http://neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_216.asp

    hope this helped%26lt;3
It all depends on the brand. Neutrogena is good...as long as you don't get the ultra one. Mystic tans work pretty well too.
Most self-tanners nowadays aren't ';orange'; as is the stereotype, unless you use the wrong shade or totally overdo it!

For winter, I suggest a gradual tan like Jergens ';Natural Glow';. It starts off very subtle, but if you re-apply every day it will get a nice natural non-orange tan! You can't go wrong. It comes it three shades, make you sure you pick the one closest to your current skin color! It also comes in face, firming and express versions.

You need to write a business plan. I know this sounds daunting, but it will really help you. The business plan will provide you with the tools you need to monitor and manage the business. It will provide a road map, so you know when and where you need to make adjustments. What are things i need to know before i start a business. i am 23, and i want to open a tanning salon.Any Help
Here's a great site with lot's of tips and useful information in the source link below:
I would open it in the winter. Also you need a dual business idea, how can you sell tanning year round? You could have a nail salon with a tanning booth. Or tanning booth and vitamin store. How about therapeutic massage? Mix it up. I am worried you will fail with just the tanning booths. Good luck!

When you get home from tanning salon ?

what do you do when you get home from tanning on a tanning bed.. do you apply moisturizer ?When you get home from tanning salon ?
If you are using a professional indoor tanning lotion with a bronzer in it, DO NOT MOISTURIZE as soon as you get home! The professional products are usually loaded with skin care ingredients and any added emollients will block the absorption of the bronzers.

It is best to wait 4-6 hours for the bronzers to develop, then take a shower, then moisturize. When you get home from tanning salon ?
It's good to apply moisturizer. They sell special ';Tan Enhancing'; moisturizer at the Salons but I think any good moisturizer should be fine. Also, DON'T shower. I know it feels kind of gross and you keep smelling the faint aroma of burnt skin but you need to wait at least an hour before showering (the longer you can wait, the better) in order for your tan to fully develop.
Yes! Going to the tanning bed dries your skin so you should use moisturizer every time.
Yes I put on a good lotion after I get out of the tanning bed even before I get dressed to leave.

I go to a tanning salon, but my stomach and legs tan way faster than my face and arms.?

I switch on %26amp; off with a lotion, and I know I could go into a booth, but are there any other things I could do to tan evenly?I go to a tanning salon, but my stomach and legs tan way faster than my face and arms.?
it's all about the melanin in your skin and the concentration.. (ie my stomach, face, and arms get really dark where as my legs lag behind..) HOWEVER, try tanning sans make up with a lot of moisturizer and try not to shower for at least 12 hours after your session.. the longer you leave it the darker you get.. secondly, try using like a jergens darkening lotion when you go to sleep at night on your problem spots.. you'll gradually gain color.. DONT use regular body soap on your face because it deters the tan with a waxy build up.. use facial cleanser..

Does the tanning salon help your acne and complexion?

It make my skin flawless.Does the tanning salon help your acne and complexion?
as we all know, tanning isnt good for you. BUT tannning in the sun or in a salon does help to dry oily skin and acne. =)Does the tanning salon help your acne and complexion?
No, in the long run, it actually does more harm than good. It does dry up oil on the face in the beginning, but to compensate for that, the skin begins to overproduce oil, which in turn will cause you to break out worse then before.
It wouldn't cure it, however it helps control it. Big difference in your flawless theory.
It can also give you melanomas, which looks even prettier than acne!
its good if you have oily skin because it is very drying
Yes, it helps, makes my skin all smooth. Just make sure you moisturize your skin a lot, though.
Yeah, it smooths out the skin and creates a pretty complexion

A girl just last year in australia died from cancer due to sunbeds/solariums DON'T DO IT. Fake it don't bake it, In the amount of time it takes to use fake tan its not worth ruining your skin going to a solarium.
If your just starting do level one, but you will have to continue doing it, you cant just go once and get tan.

It all depends on your skin too though.

and dont wear cover up or foundation when you go tanning, because your face wont tan at all .!

  • If you worked or work at a tanning salon?

I'm 16 and will be turning 17 in two months. I decided to get my first job in a tanning salon. I e-mailed 3 different tanning salons and haven't got any answers, I don't know what to do...

Anyways, many others tanning salon sites require people to write a resume but I have no idea of what to write or put in it.

Can someone explain it to me or give me any advice?

    Thanks

btw, sorry if i posted in the wrong categoryIf you worked or work at a tanning salon?
your probably better off walking in a place and asking for an application for a ground level position. ground level meaning you have no experience in what you are applying for and you'll need on the job training. which is typically for a first timer.

it usually takes a lil while through email for some reason..

if you need to put a resume together and its your first time working..

as always you put in your personal info and school information. if you've done any type of community service id throw that in too. same with any college classes. if you've helped in anyway with someone working at some type of shop or store. ( ie. Your mom owns a flower shop you'd help her out on the weekends even though you didn't get paid and wasn't actually your job.) you could still put that in your resume but fancy it up. make it sound like you had a position. your basically BSing with your resume lol (everybody does it in some form or fashion).

if your applying for a first time job no one is going to expect a whole lot on your resume. if you need any other help on it though you can always look up resume tutorials. they have lots of examples and suggestions.

good luck!!If you worked or work at a tanning salon?
On a resume you just put your educational experience and degrees (im guessing yours is just high shcool), and prior jobs. It has to be in a special format though, I think their is a thing in word that does that for you, if not im sure you can look it up online.
Some of the girls that worked in my tanning salon were really mean and didnt want the boss to hire anyone and when she did they were really mean to her and she quit. If I were you, I would check out the salon and see how they act first.
I'd go into the store and ask for the manager. You can also ask to fill out an application which I always did when I was younger...just b/c you have nothing to put on a resume at that point.
just go to the tanning place and ask for a job there and then you might get the job

How much does it cost to get a tan at the tanning salon?

Rates vary from place to place, how long you'll be tanning, if you'll be tanning again as part of a package deal, et cetera.

Around here it's about $7 a session, or you can get a monthly unlimited package for $50. But then I don't go tanning except for outside, so this is just what I've seen in local advertisements. Your prices may vary. How much does it cost to get a tan at the tanning salon?

I'm going to start tanning this week but I really have no idea how the works. I know you have to buy a lotion and I'm assuming you have to put the lotion on before you get on the bed? what about after? do you have to put the lotion on after too?

are stand up beds better/ more expensive than the lying down ones?

I have a tattoo, will tanning in the salon affect it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated :)How do you start tanning at a tanning salon?
You just in the tanning room take your clothes off than put the lotion on tan... tan get out whip your sweat off and than get dressed %26amp; leave your done! %26amp; lay down beds are much better ive tried them both and lay down is sooo much better. %26amp; if you just got your tattoo than yes your not supposed to tan but if its been awhile i think you should be fine but yes ask the people that work there they should help! :)How do you start tanning at a tanning salon?
Probably just ask the person in the salon where ur getting it they will inform you better=]

I have normal white skin. By going to a tanning salon, how many times/long would it take to build a tan?

By ';normal'; white skin fo you mean that you tan fairlly easily in the Summer? If so, then it would probably only take about a week or two of every other day tanning. But if you mean fairer skin, or pale, it may take about a month or so. Good luck! I recommend using a tanning accelerator while tanning, it makes you tan about twice as fast, and you can buy them at salons. :)I have normal white skin. By going to a tanning salon, how many times/long would it take to build a tan?
Two-weeks to a month for a good base tan'

You are fair, so you don't want to burn.

Best way I do it, spray tan first then start the tanning bed process, this way you feel you are getting some where.

PS- don't go more than three time a week at first.I have normal white skin. By going to a tanning salon, how many times/long would it take to build a tan?
It depends on a lot, not just having normal white skin. Do you tan easily or burn? If you burn then it will take a longer time because you will have to go in low UVB rayed beds and not stay for very long.

What do you think of this tanning salon name?

Downtown Brown Tanning Lounge or depending on the location Uptown Brown Tanning Lounge. What do you think of this tanning salon name?
I personally don't like it, I don't like the brown and unless your gunna have like couches and like a cozy area I don't like lounge, but either way how many people go tanning to lounge? What do you think of this tanning salon name?
    how about just ';tanning lounge';

    or ';uptown / downtown tanning';
downtown/uptown tanning lounge has a ring to it and its not too long, the brown part makes it kind of lengthy and awkward.
i like it except dont put the ';brown'; in. downtown/uptown tanning lounge sounds better
    I've got a great name...

    ';The Cancer Lounge';
If you want an honest answer, I don't like those names. How bout Sunny Daze Salon?

Can you use the self tanning lotion (sunless tan) while you still go to the tanning salon?

cuz the self tanning lotion kinda dyes your skin to a bronze tone. and i feel like when i go to the tanning salon, im tanning the layer of skin thats been dyed by the self tanning lotion, not my real skin in other words. does that make sense? Can you use the self tanning lotion (sunless tan) while you still go to the tanning salon?
yes of course you canCan you use the self tanning lotion (sunless tan) while you still go to the tanning salon?
    don't do it!

the self sunless tanner combined with tanning at a salon will make you look orange.

for a better tan, i would suggest getting some tanning lotion from your tanning salon with a bronzer in it. use it about once a week so you won't look orange.

any lotion that you buy at the salon without a bronzer will also give you great colour. if it has no bronzer in it, you can tan as much as you want! (although it isn't recommended to go more than once every 48 hours)
I work at a tanning salon and we recommend not to use it. You also double your risk of turning orange instead of being bronze. Buy a bronzer or accelerator lotion from the tanning salon.

  • Does a tanning salon tan look natural?

I am a guy and I am going back to school this fall and I haven't had a chance to get a tan this summer. I' ve decided to go to a tanning salon, but im worried,]. I tan easily, and I'm not extremely pale. I really want to avoid the ';fake'; tan look, I want to make it seem like its a genuine sun tan. How do I achieve this?Does a tanning salon tan look natural?
It will look genuine. Afterall, you're getting the same UVA/UVB rays. BUT I don't recommend it. Recent studies show that it increases your chances of skin cancer each time you use the beds. Try the mystique tan.. go for a few sessions. I've done it. Or just lay out in your backyard or something for a few minutes for a few days.Does a tanning salon tan look natural?
I go tanning because I work constantly and just don't have the time to lay out and my advice is that if you tan easy, you won't turn orange. Just remember to moisturize alot and your tan will last longer.
    ';want to make it seem like its a genuine sun tan. How do I achieve this?';

You achieve this by going outside and playing, you said GENUINE, make it bloody genuine!

Is it illegal for a tanning salon to make you buy eye wear instead of providing it for you?

I tan at a salon that wont let you tan unless you buy there eye wear ot have your own. they wont provide it for you for free though. this seemed weird to me...Is it illegal for a tanning salon to make you buy eye wear instead of providing it for you?
I used to work at several different tanning salons while in college. Some provided it free and some didn't. One of the ones that didn't explained that it's actually extremely unsanitary and unsafe to share eyewear (think about it, people have pink eye, staph infections, etc.). It isn't cleaned in a jar of disinfectant like tools at a hair or nail salon. When the employees go to wipe the beds down with the disinfectant spray, they simply spray and wipe off the eyewear. I'm sure it's also to make more money but when you think about it it is pretty gross anyway. Is it illegal for a tanning salon to make you buy eye wear instead of providing it for you?
No, its not illegal. It'd be kind of along the same lines as trying to make them pay for your lotion. Not everyone tans with the goggles, although I personaly reccommend that you do use them.

Are they expensive? I've never seen a price for goggles...

The salon I tan at does provide them for people. And I noticed one answer said its not like they sit in disinfectant like hair salon supplies... well I don't know where that girl has worked but my cousins salon (the one I tan at) puts ALL goggles into a jar of disinfectant after they've been used.

Did you buy a package at this place or are you paying everytime you go? If you don't have a package I suggest you maybe find another salon that does provide them. May seem silly to choose another place over that but I do think the salon should provide them.
That is ridiculous! Every tanning salon I've been to provides them for free. They just sound like money hungry lamers. Doubt it's illegal but if someone doesn't buy the eye wear they may risk damaging their eyes big time, so I'd blame them if anything goes wrong!
they're in the business of drying out your skin, prematurely aging you, and increasing your risks of skin cancer, so they probably don't want to be liable for giving out eyewear in case on turns out to be defective.
very legal and smart actually. that way if u get some kind of eye damages they are not responsible. evreyone is this world is ready to sue some one. theyre just tryna watch themselves.
That's not illegal, its called THATS HOW THEY MAKE MONEY ;)
I don't see why that would be illegal. It's just another way for them to make money.

Is the tanning salon business a good business to invest in? ?

Im wanting to purchase a tanning salon but not real sure of the potential profit of the business. Am I wasting my time and money or is it a good investment? Is the tanning salon business a good business to invest in? ?
I would not. This is a luxury, and in a slowing economy it is an area where people can cut back.

Ask to see copies of the last 5+ years tax returns. keep in mind that good times were from 1990-2006, with exception in 1993-1994, and 2000-2002.

Have a CPA or professional business advisors look over the numbers if you need help.Is the tanning salon business a good business to invest in? ?
Depends on where its at. Look at the books. Not the tax returns; different objectives. You want to see the cash flow and expenses. Not the taxable income. The economy and health concerns can hurt the business. College towns are a good place for them, but when students leave town those businesses slow down a lot. Its a seasonal business too. Winter picks up and summer slows down when they can get a natural tan. Size up the competition and the potential customers in the area.
Mucho competition. How are the books? How are demographics? Location? I'd be thinking tax loss, but maybe cash flow positive. The girls might make it worthwhile.
I don't think it's a good business personally. Why not take a look at their books and see what kind of profit they're making?

How much does it cost on average to go to a tanning salon, with tanning lotion and such?

depends what level you do. at L.A. tan where i go its $16 for a level 3 bed for 15 minutes.. little packet of one time use lotion is $3..

but on tuesdays they have $5 tanning for any level, however long :DHow much does it cost on average to go to a tanning salon, with tanning lotion and such?
I used to work at a tanning salon %26amp; let me tell you that its EXPENSIVE AS HELL.

Lotion can range anywhere from $30 to $100.

Salons usually go by levels depending on your experience as a tanner. They usually go from 1-3 but can go up to 4. The higher you go, the more money you have to pay. Let's not even talk about a single session. A single session in a high level bed can cost you $30 bucks. Definitely not worth it considering you have to go every day for at least a week or two to even BEGIN to show color.

I am an experienced tanner.. and i usually pay about $80 bucks a month for tanning and that's JUST the membership.

go to palmbeachtan.com and browse around. I'd recommend them because they don't GROSSLY overcharge you like some of the other salons do.

I have decided just to do the mystic tan. Much better for your skin =]
For a normal bed I pay, 7 dollars everytime I go and you get 15 mintues max. I also pay 7 dollars for stand up, but its 10 or more for stronger beds. It can also depend on the tanning salon and the qualtiy of it. Tanning lotion cost 3-5 dollars and I get usually 4 uses out of it because I use it carefully. If your considering going tanning look for a higher quality tanning salon because they are safer, good luck!

What does it mean to be a ';tanning consultant'; for a tanning salon?

I currently work for a grocery store, I am a 17 years old female and am soon to be quitting my job.

    I'm interested in working at a tanning salon (Seattle Sun Tan.) but i would like to know what a person actually does on the job while being a ';tanning consultant';

ive been tanning there for awhile and see girls either at the front desk or cleaning the beds.

is that all they do? please help! What does it mean to be a ';tanning consultant'; for a tanning salon?
they check you,in clean bed, replace bulbs, new memberships, vacuum, sell lotions, yea that's pretty much it its a super easy job and it take 10 seconds to check in and a min to sign up someone and when theres no one that needs checked in you can be on the internet. usually they wear uniforms but not ugly like mine they wear a bright fire orange shirt with the tanning writing and the store locations on the back and all that and they can wear brown, or tan pants jeans shorts Capri's or shirts whatever. its easy! go for it!What does it mean to be a ';tanning consultant'; for a tanning salon?
You have to be at least 18 and know how to market/sell products well. Besides cleaning beds, there is working with customers at the front desk, changing bulbs, cleaning/sweeping floors and bathrooms, taking out trash from the tanning rooms, washing towels, answering the phone and talking to a customer at the same time, making a certain quota at the end of the month, explaining everything and anything about tanning/tanning beds to customers. Also, you need to get a tanning certificate to qualify to actually work there, which is after the interview and if you get hired. Meeting quotas and knowing how to market/sell things well as well as prior sales experience=most important.

Fake tanning without going to the tanning salon?

Is there a way to make yourself tan using a light or something at home? No tanning lotion by the way, that stuff is orange and splotchy. I mean using like an actual lamp, they did it on that 70's show, I don't know if it's possible.Fake tanning without going to the tanning salon?
I have no idea... I used to have a tanning bed in my house but that was years ago and I was too young to use it... they cant be to spendy cause my mom was a single parent at the time... as long as you have the space to put it, my grandma has one in her yard in a special house out back.Fake tanning without going to the tanning salon?
I am so sick of people wanting to change themselves! Whether it is tanning, colouring hair, etc. Why can't we just be happy with the way we are? All this effort is being made to look better and for what? There is so much marketing to make us feel badly about ourselves that we are willing to spend our hard-earned cash. Living a healthy lifestyle makes us beautiful and so does being a wonderful person.

What about the environmental impact we contribute to by wanting to 'look better'. Think about the unnecessary energy and resources it takes to manufacture this garbage. In addition, we need to think about all the chemicals we use (hair dye, shampoo's with sodium laurel sulphates, etc.) that go down the drain that pollute our planet further.

Please take into consideration that you are beautiful the way you are without alternations.
NO! and why would you want to? Its UV light. its very harmful...ever heard of skin cancer? thats harmful too, and only has 65% survival rate. Use tanning moisturiser, Dove summer glow is awesome...for light skin, it developes gradually and you can build it up over a few days or just have a light tan. Do it! its great!

what are the do's and dont's for fake sun tanning? do you tan naked or with a swim suit? what types of lotions or oils do you use? i have fair skin.. how long do i tan for?

i imagion the people at the place will help me. but just asking before i go..I got a tanning gift certificate for my birthday and ive never been to a tanning salon?
You can go naked. Remeber your nipples and lips contain no melanin cells (tanning) and therefore always burn, wear an SPF chapstick and rub some on your nipples.

You MUST wear a lotion in order for the UV rays to absorb into the skin, this will also allow you to tan faster, tan less, and for the tan itself to last longer.

DO MINIMAL TIME! its impossible to achieve a tan in ONE day, you have to build it so take the smallest sessions possible to see how your skin reacts to the wattage of the bed. (If you can ONLY DO LOW BEDS)

Before your tan, shower and exfoliate (body wash with beads/rocks/scrub) this removes the dead skin build up for a more even and deeper tan. MOISTURIZE twice a day to replenish lost nutrients in the skin as well as to maintain the life of your tan. DO not shower for 24 hours after your tanning session for the results take up to 12 hours to appear (its a chemical process taking part in your skin, needs time, you'll see the results tomorrow).

You can only determine the time of your tan by the bed being used (ONLY USE 100WATT!!!) and how strong the bulbs are. The salon assistant should inform you of all the precautions needed and maintenance of your skin. Remeber, LOTION IS CRUCIAL! no bronzers/tingles/coolants just a plain jane accelerator (must be bought at the salon, no oils/outside lotions allowed for it ruins the acrylic u lie on and they can charge you for a new one)

Remeber tanning doesnt cause any damage its BURNING SO NEVER BURN!I got a tanning gift certificate for my birthday and ive never been to a tanning salon?
When you go to the tanning salon just let them know you never indoor tanned before. If you are fair I would suggest a bed/booth with a lower UVB so you are less likely to burn. Start with a low tan time and work your way up to prevent burning. An accelerator lotion or natural bronzer would be the best lotion for you. Always wear eye wear. Most people tan naked, in their bra/undies or you could bring a swim suit. It is private.

    Hope this help!

Is it bad to wear my make-up when i go to the tanning salon?

ane please dont tell me anything that its bad to go to a tanning salonIs it bad to wear my make-up when i go to the tanning salon?
It isn't bad for your skin infact it can be better for you...

Almost all foundations have spf (sun Protector factor) of some kind built in so will protect your skin from tanning causing your face to be paler than your skin this can be a good or bad thing.

Good- less face damage so less wrinkles and less rubber skin in a few years time.

Bad- because when you do wash your make up it can leave your face paler.

I find I prefer to leave my make up on and I use

    http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/body-care/ambre-鈥?/a>

you spray it on to your face smells nice and dries in seconds if your in a rush to go to work like me! and just build it up it's really light at first so I spray morning and night after cleansing until It reaches a nice colour then stop using it for a few days and then the same again...

It means I can go on sunbeds and have leaa damage to my face but still have evan Colour! :)Is it bad to wear my make-up when i go to the tanning salon?
It won't harm your skin or anything like that, if that's what you mean. However, your face might not tan as much as the rest of your body because of the makeup. I always take my makeup off before i tan so i can tan my face also. Maybe you should keep a bottle of makeup remover in your car and take off your makeup before you go tanning. Oh, and i have acne also and tanning helped dry some of it up!

    Hope i helped.
Eyeliner, or mascara isn't bad. But foundation is. Well, it's not ';bad';. But it will prevent your face from getting tan. Not completely but it will definitely slow down the process. So like, your neck or chest might be obviously tanner than your face.

And tanning also REALLY helps with acne. So if you go in with no make up on it may help clear up your skin quite a bit. I know that it keeps my skin really really clear.

Plus sweating a lot with foundation on can't be good for your skin? But I'm not sure.
Theres really no point to wear it.

    Just dont.

How often should I go to tanning salon guys?

    Hi guys,

Just want to get some advice from you guys...I ve been doing outdoor tanning in the past two years and I never got burn...never got really tan before either...properly i didnt go often enough...However, I have decided to try tanning salon this year since i dont have much free time...My first time I went in the 160W stand-up for 6 min...im just wondering if it is ok for me to go everyday since i want to get a tan faster...or i should go every other day to get best results...btw, after how long I should move up to the next stronger bed/standup....thanks guy...(P.S my skin is normal and olive...)How often should I go to tanning salon guys?
Don't tan. It's unhealthy and you'll be all wrinkly (or get skin cancer) later in life. Pale is in.How often should I go to tanning salon guys?
well let me start by telling you to ignore all the ppl who are telling you not to go indoor tanning because indoor tanning is way better then outdoor and you always feel good with a tann but anways really you can go when ever but i think 7 days straght is a little much and might just make you burn rember always start off gradlually and incresse because your a beginer tanner i kno i used to work in a tanning salon for 5 years but its reccomened that you tanning 2 days then skip a day in that patteren for the first 11 days to build your base Tann then you can go when ever i suggest going like 3 days straight then skip a day then go 3 days u know what i mean but just make shure you have created a schedule and stick by it and then you should have your desired color. if you have any other questions just post another thingy and ill be happy to share my knowledge i hope i helped u !
Its hard to say without really seeing you. The best person to ask is actually the person at the front desk. I went every day last year, although i forgot the strength of the bed (I'm irish tho). You should talk to the desk and find out their advise, and also new bulbs are a lot stronger than older ones and need far less time after being changed. Just don't get orange, that never looks good.
Tanning salons are so bad for you, you're doing damage everytime you go. If you want to get tan in the sun, you can use things on your body, a can of beer, a can of coke. Try drinking a glass of carrot juice before you go in the sun. But you're just doing so much damage by going to a tanning salon
My personal advice is to avoid tanning salons all together. I have a 24 year old son who was 16 when he was diagnosed with Melanoma after a routine removal of a mole that had changed. Shortly after his 17th birthday, he had major surgery to remove the cancerous skin plus several lymph nodes. We learned so much about skin and it's care that I can never pass up a chance to warn people about the dangers of tanning. My son's dermatologist and cancer doctor told us that tanned skin is damaged skin and damaged skin is a factor in the mutation that skin cells go through to form skin cancer. Melanoma happens to be the most deadly of the skin cancers and the increase of melanoma diagnoses in young people is quite high. I suggest not using a tanning salon and protecting your skin with sunscreen, shade, and clothing when outside. Sorry about being up on a ';soapbox';, but this is my advice.
Going every once on a while is fine, but don't get hooked because even though your tan might look good now, it will make you age quicker, you will start to have wrinkles in your 30's and that isn't good, and yes the actaul son can cause cancer but tanning booths can cause it that much more, by the time you are 40 your skin will look like a football (all wrinkly)

Where can i find a sunless tanning salon in kuwait?

i want information on any sunless tanning salon in kuwait to get a fake bake spray tan, since the heat seems to be scorching my skin!Where can i find a sunless tanning salon in kuwait?
Interesting question considering the women of Kuwait would rather buy skin lightening creams rather than self-tanners. There, the paleness rather than the tan-ness of your skin is more important to them.

So....good luck finding a tanning salon of any kind there. I would suggest that you maybe try some of the nicer hotels, like the Hilton or the Palms to see if they offer this service.

You could also shop places like Carrefour, Sultan Center or the hundreds of neighborhood pharmacies for a can of tan.

Where can i find a good tanning salon in toronto that offers some discounts?

new to the city of Toronto and i love tanning esp. since winter months is coming and i still wanna maintain my nice brown skin, but i'm also on a budget, if anybody can help me find a place i would be grateful, thank uWhere can i find a good tanning salon in toronto that offers some discounts?
Hello and welcome to Toronto. It's really ironic that you asked this question cause I was referred to a site called www.stealthedeal.com where you can find a huge savings on a 150 tanning session at Solei Tanning Studio right by the Eaton Center in Toronto.

You buy the coupon from the stealthedeal website and after payment, you receive a coupon that you print out. I purchased 2 today... one for my girlfriend and one for her sister.

Good luck and hope this helps!

What are the pros/cons of a spray-on tan at a tanning salon verses a using a tanning bed at a tanning salon?

I want to know; How long does the spray-on tan last, does a spray-on tan rub on to your clothes and can it be washed out, is spray-on tan a safe product, does spray-on tan offer any spf protection from the sun? What are the pros/cons of a spray-on tan at a tanning salon verses a using a tanning bed at a tanning salon?
The spray on tanning solution is a combination of bronzer, which you see quickly, and an aloe vera based DHA which darkens over the first few hours and peeks within 24.

One of the great things about the spray on tanning solution is that it will work on anybody... even someone who's never been able to get a tan!

Make sure you exfoliate and moisturize the night before.

After you tan, don't use any products or shower for at least 4 hrs after your spray on tan.

Salt water and chlorinated pools will fade your tan.

Allergic reactions are rare and the only people who need to look out for them are those that have had reactions to other self-tanning creams or lotions.

...... give you a near perfect tan, but it only lasts at full strength for about 4 or 5 days at which time you begin to fade. The fade is not always even.

A very important fact to be aware of: While you'll look tan, you are not really tan and will be just as susceptible to sun burns. So use your sunscreen! What are the pros/cons of a spray-on tan at a tanning salon verses a using a tanning bed at a tanning salon?
    No skin cancer hooray!!!!!
No cancer would probably be the main benefit...
Spray on tans don't cause any permenant change to your skin and can easily be washed off. Tans however can increase your risk of skin cancer but they don't wash off.

I go to a Planet Beach in Mississippi, and I love it! The people are nice and helpful. The beds are great! They have a lot of different beds you can choose from.Has anyone ever gone to a Planet Beach tanning salon?
    No, not at all.

I am a Skin Specialist and I am very aware of harmful effects of UV tanning. It can cause wrinkles, freckles, moles, and even cancer. It's not worth it.

My friend, 16, wants to go to a ';tanning salon';. Will that have any bad side affects on her?

I am trying to convince her not to do it cause i saw it once on TV how hings might go wrong in it and the bad rays, but i just want to have solid proof about this machine and wither it might hurt her in any bad way in a short or long term.My friend, 16, wants to go to a ';tanning salon';. Will that have any bad side affects on her?
The biggest and the most deadly effect of a tanning bed is skin cancer. Those who have the misconception of getting skin cancer from suntanning only should make themselves aware of this fact. The skin cancer may also occur because of using tanning beds. Your indoor sunless tanning is as harmful as suntanning. Thus, before lying on the tanning bed of your nearby tanning salon to attain the lovely designer skin, think once again.

The harmful UV or ultraviolet rays emitted by the tanning lamps and bulbs installed in tanning beds are behind the development of perilous Melanoma or Nonmelonoma skin cancers. Your over exposure to the lights of these tanning lamps and tanning bulb lights reduces your tendency to produce DNA. Another side effect of using tanning bed is premature aging of the skin. You damage your skin with every tanning session. Every tanning session sucks out the youth from your skin and you think you are looking beautiful. What an irony? My friend, 16, wants to go to a ';tanning salon';. Will that have any bad side affects on her?
the machine itself is fine. those tanning beds have to get inspected and be in 100% proper working order for public to use. the only damage is can cause, is harmful rays to your skin... just like the sun rays. you can get immature sunspots from sun and tanning beds. the machine itself is fine, but the rays are like the sunrays.. it can damage skin cells especially if you get burnt or do it all the time.
I found the below website address, I think it should be visited. A good friend of mine started laying in the tanning bed at 17 and unfortunate enough she has developed skin cancer in three different spots. As great as it is to be tan and beautiful, it's not worth it to develop skin cancer.
She should be fine as long as she doesnt get in the habit of doing it all the time. You are going to hear a lot of Pros and Cons about everything. You will probably like looking at her after her skin starts looking nice.

In most states you have to be sixteen AND have a parental signature. If you are 18 or older, than you have free range to tan wherever and whenever you'd like. How old do you have to be to go into a tanning salon?
I dont know the exact age but I know my friend goes and she's 14.
if you are under 18, you need a parent. you can be any age though.
at the one i had to go to u had to be 16. my friend who is 15 went and had her mom sign a paper and she can tan as much as she wants to now too =)
i have seen 12 year old sgo in, it al depends where you go. Usually the age is 13 or 14.
you can tan as early as your parents will let you. alot of the highschool girls like to tan before prom and they are what 15,16,17. so i dont know how old you are, but i dont think its a problem
first time if you're under 18 your parents have to sign saying it's okay and all that jazz. (LOL) then after that 14 and older at places where i live. These 2 places i know are 14 and older after 1st time but those are the only salons i've ever been in: TANNIN BARE and SUN TAN CITY.

alot of 15 year old girls in my school have done it, but think before you get it done, becasue even though it wares off in a while, it looks fake and orange and disgusting on every single person i've ever seen with it. it looks likes you've put way to much foundation on, but all over your body. it's obvious when you get a fake tan, just lay out in the sun for a while and get a real one, it's safer and it looks a hell of alot better.

Can I put my tan lotion on before leaving to go to the tanning salon and then tan?

Probably sounds dumb, but they never give me anough time when I go to the salon to get my lotion on. The controls used to be on the bed so I could pause it, but now there are none on the bed and it always starts before I get my lotion on. Would it work just as well to put it on at home and let it dry before dressing, and then head to the salon, or does the lotion need to be wet when you get into the bed?Can I put my tan lotion on before leaving to go to the tanning salon and then tan?
I would recommend asking the tanning salon employee to give you a couple of extra minutes; they should be able to do that for you.

Otherwise, if you would rather put your lotion on at home, it should be okay as long as you go straight to the salon. I would also recommend reapplying to the places that get rubbed by your clothes when you arrive at the salon.

By the way, tanning lotion does not cause cancer, but excessive tanning does, so don't go every day. Get a nice base color and be sure to moisturize and take care of your skin. Wrinkly orange skin is just not in!Can I put my tan lotion on before leaving to go to the tanning salon and then tan?
It is actually best to put the lotion on immediately before tanning. (most of the bottles say that) What you should do is put regular lotion on very liberally an hour or so before you are going tanning. Then right before you leave your house put the tanning lotion on. When you arrive at the salon quickly put more on the places that you want to be darker. For me it'd be my face, chest and arms. The regular lotion will stop your skin from absorbing the tanning lotion so quickly so that it remains on the surface of your skin while you travel there. The more hydrated your skin is the quicker your skin will tan. So make sure you are lotioning it often. Glob it on before you go to bed at night that way you might not even need to use the tanning lotion!
as long as it is right before you go i think youre okay. if i were you though id ask them to wait a minute or two to turn it on if there's no line waiting or get them to add a minute or two to my time and just leave the bed closed while i finish applying. you may want to go ahead and put your eyewear on though
    It causes skin cancer!

Its really bad for you're skin.. I'd say just go into the bed and tan.
    Yes
yea sure.. that can probaly mean more coverage

How bout tanning pads or sprays. You won't need to go to a tanning salon for that.
no its not true but get tanning spray. no orange palms!!!!
um you should try olay lotion, that gradually enhances your skin to become a nice tan, you have to use it every day to get a great tan.
The reason they tell you to use the different kinds of lotion is because you get more tan depending on the blood flow to any given area of your body. The circulation in your chest and stomach is much better than that in your legs so your stomach tans much faster than your legs. Your legs are the worst at tanning so make sure to put the strongest thing there whether it be tanning oil or just baby oil. and then an spf on your face and a higher spf on your stomach and you should balance out your arms usually need similar treatment to your legs unless your arms already have a base tan since it is summer.

Situation: An employee allows a child under 14 years old to tan, unaware of the FDA regulations that anyone under 14 is not allowed to tan in New York state. However, the mother is with the child and clearly gives permission for the child to tan (she is also tanning).

Hypothetically, if the mother goes to authorities (police, FDA, etc) afterwards and tells them about the tanning salon that allowed her child to tan (whether she knows about the age regulations or not beforehand is unknown), what will happen to the owner(s) of the tanning salon - will they be subject to a fine, jail time, loss of license to operate a tanning salon, etc.? The employee would probably get fired, but the owners would be legally responsible. Does anyone know what kind of legal troubles, if any, that the owners will have to deal with?

Professional answers from any type of law enforcement/authority figures or those who are familiar with these regulations are appreciated, thank you :)How responsible is the owner(s) of an indoor tanning salon that allowed a child under 14 yrs old to tan in NY?
I believe as long as the parent gives permission that it is ok. some children need to go to the tanning salons due to having psoisasis and that is legal.

  • I am going to a tanning salon tomorrow. How much sunscreen should I wear so I don't get burnt or tanned?

I thinks spf 40? I hate sun tans and I really hate sun burns :(.I am going to a tanning salon tomorrow. How much sunscreen should I wear so I don't get burnt or tanned?
I don't understand why you're going to a tanning bed if you don't want a tan, because that's precisely what they do! Maybe try turning the lights on in your house instead if you want some light. If you want to minimise the tan, get an extremely high spf sunBLOCK, some places should stock an spf 80.I am going to a tanning salon tomorrow. Tanning salons give you prematurely aged skin and pigment blotches. They also give skin cancer. If you want a tan with no risk, use a cosmetic tanning solution.

How much sense does it make to go to a tanning salon, pay for tanning and then block the rays with sunscreen.

If you insist on going anyway, then spf 40 sounds good. Just put it everywhere that is exposed.
why are you going to a tanning salon if you dont want a tan? you shouldnt use outdoor tanning lotions at a tanning salon. outdoor tanning lotions will crack the beds. and most indoor tanning lotions dont have that much sunscreen in them. halo only has spf 4. some facial ones have spf 15 and i know some have more, but i not sure if they even have and indoor one with spf 40.

Do not use a tanning salon! They're called cancer coffins for a reason! They give you skin cancer, and that's no myth! They're VERY DANGEROUS!! The sun is the thing you should tan yourself with, and remember to put on sunblock! Or you'll get skin cancer from sunburn!

    %26gt; no-ad self-tanner

*******MAKE SURE IT IS EVENLY APPLIED OR YOU WILL LOOKED STRIPED AND BLOTCHY!!!!!!!!******
Lay out in the sun for 30 minutes every day. Use some type of inhancer to speed up the process. You will see good results in a short time, be sure and turn frequently. This will be a good tan that will last a while too.
You can lay out in your yard with some tanning oil on. ( I use banana boat oils. It always smells really nice.) or you can use tanning lotions if you are afraid of sun damage. Jergens makes one that I tried, but it takes a while to show up and you really don't get that dark.
the beach, pool, spray tan, lotions with a hint of self tanner (jergens natural glow)
GO IN THE SUN! WEAR UR SWIMSUIT AND LITEN TO UR IPOD AND JUST LAY THERE ON UR TOWEL AND SOKE IN THE SUN

At age 13 you must have a parent present, at least the first time to sign your waiver. Depending on what state you are in that may change for each subsequent visit. What 's the minimum age you can be to use a tanning bed at a tanning salon?
Honestly i'm not sure if there is an age or not, I went when I was 16 before prom but i'm from a small town and a lady up the road had a bed in here house.

I'm going to warn you though, i've only used them a few times and I really enjoy them but after seeing some stuff on TV about them and how harmful they are I really wouldn't suggest going.

I was a bridesmaid a couple of years ago and went in the beds to get a tan and I burned pretty bad, ever since then I have a small blood blister above my lip that doesn't go away, it's damaged skin and the only way to fix it is with lasers. It's not terribly noticeable but I noticed it myself everytime I look in the mirror and it's there for life just because of those darn beds.

So, my suggesting to you is stay away from tanning beds, you'll get enough sun while you're in Florida.

    Have a safe trip ;)

P.S. If you make it Disney World make sure to go on the Tower of Terror it's the best ;)
you dont wanna use them mate they cause pre-mature aging and wrinkle.sif your gonna use one use protection

and you should be able to use them...there only UV Rays...there's not an age limit to go outside so there isnt one for sunbeds...jus have ur mum or dad there
