Is there anything especially important I need to know about using a tanning salon before I go? I've never been to one, and nearly all my friends don't go to them either, so I don't have anyone to ask for personal experience. I've always shunned the idea of going just because of the UV and skin cancer danger. How can I reduce my chances of that? Are there sunless tanning methods I could use before going to a salon? Thanks for the help!Never been to a tanning salon, need help for first time?
laying in the sun.... I go to the tanning salon every week, and use lotion extra for tanning beds....Never been to a tanning salon, need help for first time?
First off, it all depends your skin color and your ability to tan. If your porcelain skin for example, you need to avoid the sun at all costs. Other than that, I believe regular, smart, moderate tanning does nothing but benefits for your skin and body. There is one golden rule, NEVER BURN. If you have been severely burnt when you were younger, unfortunately that raises your risk of skin cancer, but if you never burn, you don't have to worry.
Oh, and smart tanning actually tightens the skin, don't listen to people who claim it makes your skin like leather when your XX years old, it's not true. You can use any generic grocery store lotion, as all you need to do is make sure your skin is moisturized properly. NEVER use sunscreen, as this actually contributes to cancer. http://www.naturalnews.com/001264.html
The people at the salon will help you with starting times and beds, and you gradually work your way up granted you haven't burned. I recommend stand ups because you get an all even tan, you don't sweat, and you avoid those pressure points where your skin is on the acrylic on the lay down beds. Good luck!
DONT GO, protect your skin. use fake tan, id love a tan but have you seen what is does to your skin? ive used sunbeds, takes quite a few goes to get a tan, spray tans much safer.
You can reduce that by using a good tanning lotion
make shure it doesnt have bronzer in it, because i just bought one, and stupid of me, where i missed spots im all different colors, but it will change sooon cuz ill be going all week. talk to the person thats working there, if your going in a laydown tryout for about 7 minutes, so you dont get burnt, intill you get your base of colour, if your going in the standup try around 3 minutes, the light is so much stronger in the standup and you dont need to go for aslong because it will tan you faster
hope this helps, xo
they have spray on tans at most tanning salons. And you definitly cannot reduce the chances of skin cancer stepping into a tanning bed. Just put lotion on all over you body, make sure the fan is working, turn up the radio, and relax (and alternate from back to stomach)
go to a salon and get a spray tan
Yes, you can get a spray on tan.
Go to the salon and the clerks will help you, just tell them it is your first time.
If you do it the other way, I suggest starting at a low amount of minutes and working your way up so that you don't get burned. Lotions always help you get tanner quicker.
