How much does a tanning salon cost?

Like is it per tan? Or monthly? Also.. do I just walk in and say Ive never done it before? Haha.. I don't want to look stupid.How much does a tanning salon cost?
Usually you can pay for each tan, or you buy ';minutes';... so you'll buy maybe 100 minutes, and you use them whenever you want, kind of like a gift card.


If you pay for each tan, its generally around $10 each time (at my shop anyways), depending on which bed you use.. They were around 8-12 dollars... Stand up was 15 i think, and spray tan was 20.


If you plan to go a few times, buy minutes. If you've never tanned before, 100 minutes will get you around 8 tans, depending how much you burn, but the first few times you should only go in for like 5 minutes. That might cost you something like $25 for that. Me and my friend went in and bought 300 minutes together and it was like $70 dollars. They'll usually have you fill out a card about your skin, like if you usually tan alot, or burn, how often your in the sun, etc, and they will tell you which bed to go in and for how long. They'll be able to keep your record on file, and the next time you can just give them your name and they'll tell you where to go and how long. Ours was really good because after the second trip, the girl knew our names (it was always the same girl) and set everything up for us.. we basically just had to go in the room and that was it.


Some places will give you an unlimited plan, like tan all you want for 50 a month or something... That's usually not a good plan until you've decided you really like it.


If you go in and say it's your first time, they'll show you exactly what to do. They might ask anyways. They'll show you the bed, and where the supplies are. Usually the beds are hooked up to a computer anyways, so you basically go in the room and have like 3 mintues, then the bed turns on, and turns off after a set amount of time so you don't fall asleep, but they'll show you how to work the fans and the face tanner (if there is one in the bed). They'll also show you where the sanitizer is, and give you some goggles (if you go alot, buy your own goggles).. Always wipe down the bed before you get in. They'll also likely give you a sample of tanning lotion to use. You have to use tanning lotions, some places won't let you go in without it. It's expensive to buy it there, around $30 a bottle, but it's usually really good quality. Our tanning salon let me and my friend have a joint account, so we just shared the minutes (it's cheaper for more minutes) and they gave us a bag we could put our tanning lotion and goggles in, and just leave them there to get when we came back. There is also usually a cd player in the room if you want to bring a CD.


You'll pretty much have to tell them it's your first time.. They'll likely ask. if you don't have an account, you'll have to fill out the info form anyways saying you've never tanned.. that's so they don't let you go in a high-powered bed for 20 minutes or something and fry yourself. Every bed is different too, so they'd have to show you that anyways, even if you tanned somewhere else. They can always tell anyways because your likely pale :P.. They knew the first time I went in before I even said anything.





Don't worry, just walk in and say you'd like to buy minutes and ask what their packages are (some include free lotions and stuff like that), and they'll walk you through everything.





The girl above me is talking about spray tans... They're not actual tans, it's more like dye that is spayed on your skin. Some people prefer them, some don't. I'd rather go the old fashioned way and bake my skin, though I only go like 4 times a year...How much does a tanning salon cost?
Each salon is different is regard to costs. Some do a yearly fee and then each visit is reduced. Some do an ';unlimited monthly'; fee and you go as many times as you like for the month for one fee. However the most important thing that you need to remember if you have never tanned in a salon bed is not to lay in the bed for any more that 6 minutes for the first couple of visits and then add time in increments of 2 minutes or so in the visits following or you will burn and will not be able to go go back for several days If you feel like you ar burining while you are in the bed go ahead and get out. You said that you did not want to walk in and tell them you had never been. Please do tell them and let them educate you on the proper way to tan in a salon bed. The proper use of lotion is very important to keep the skin moisturized and hold the tan longer.
My eldest sister owns two beauty salons... i would recommend you ring and ask to book a spray tan to avoid disappointment of the salon being fully booked when you arrive!





Spray tans done by hand by a beauty specialist will come out much better than going to a spray booths, so really recommend this is you want a streak-free natural looking tan! You can go knackered or wear a bikini / shorts for men ... or some salons will supply paper thongs! Don't wear any of you best clothes as the tan will slightly rub off over night and make sure you use old bedsheets that night!





I would strongly recommend you exfoliate your body before you go for an even tan as exfoliating removes all your dead skin sells and remember to remove all traces of make/up.





Make sure you moisturise daily after your spray tan to ensure the colour lasts longer and doesn't dry out!

Well first of all you have to be 18. A lot of places won't ask for your ID if you say you're 18 and act confident about it.





Second of all, I've been to a lot of tanning salons %26amp; not once have they ever been fully booked so walk in is just fine. I also recommend you do a lay down tanning booth. I never liked spray on it always came out too orange.


Also, never lay in a tanning bed with a bra that has underwire or metal in it. You'll get a nasty burn and rash from it.





Tell them its your first time tanning and they'll usually give you a trial plan and let you try out the different beds. One time visits range from $7 to $30. And monthly passes range from $25 to about $60.
